About GerdesHaus German Shepherds of Texas
We believe that the original founder of the breed, Capt. Max Von Stephanitz had
the right idea way back in the 1890's. He believed a German Shepherd should be intelligent,
trustworthy, sound in body and mind, protective when necessary, and possesses a
strong desire to please. Because GerdesHaus German Shepherds agree with his founding
principles, we continue use the very best German bloodlines in our breeding program.
Our focus is on producing an attractive, all-around companion dog. A dog that is
able to excel in the obedience ring, out in the pasture herding sheep, or just playing
ball in the backyard. Our aim is to produce a dog that can go anywhere, do anything,
and still be content to lie quietly at your feet.
Located in McKinney / Princeton Texas (TX) just north of Dallas/DFW, we specialize
in German Shepherds, or GSD. Our client list includes such people as Police officers,
Search and Rescue groups, Firemen, Military Police Officers, members of all branches
of the military, therapy dog groups, members of FEMA, judges, members of the Dallas
Cowboys. One of our dogs has even been on Animal Planet.
Our German Shepherds are healthy and have excellent temperaments as family companions.
All the parents hips and elbows are OFA certified or certified by the SV in Germany.
The GerdesHaus puppies come with a 12 month written health guarantee and 30 month
hip guarantee. We recommend that you compare us to other breeders in Texas before
making your choice. Our shepherds could go on to excel as working dogs such as handicap
assistant service dogs, therapy, police K9, narcotics, and animal assisted therapy
dogs. Our shepherd pups have not only grown up to be family protection dogs, but
are also successful at Agility, Obedience,
Schutzhund, and Tracking after receiving training. Our dogs’ natural instincts
are prevalent in the three p hases of Schutzhund:Obedience,

Our German Shepherds are intelligent, have sound structure, confidence and beauty.
A German Shepherd Dog should be neither shy, fearful, aggressive nor vicious. Above
all, our shepherds are compatible family members. We are strive to improve the German
Shepherd breed. Our GSDs are members of our family, and spend time in our house
as family companions.
Our GSD puppies are born and raised in our home, and are exposed to normal daily
activities. They grow up with children, other dogs,and cats making them well socialized.
The pups are handled from the day they are born and are puppy temperment tested
before matching them with the right family. We only breed to and from dogs
that are sound in structure and temperament. We love all our dogs and hope you will
